For years after the show premiered, those same fans fought tooth and nail to figure out who Ted would eventually end up with. Even though, like most programs, the show is definitely more about the journey than the destination, there was always the looming question of when exactly the mother would walk across our television screens. We saw her ankles, we waited for her to eventually retrieve her signature yellow umbrella, and we were finally rewarded when Cristin Milioti bought a train ticket at the end of season 8.
There are so many reasons why Ted and Tracy are absolutely perfect for each other, and Ted and Robin were not, and this list will highlight those. Robin and Barney begin dating at the end of season 4, and they actually end up being darn near perfect for one another. Robin is also against the idea of marriage from the beginning, but she falls in love with Barney, who proves to her that he understands what she needs and understands from a partner.
In the same episode, we see that Tracy brought the umbrella with her to a club on St. Ted is obsessed with the idea of starting a family, and being a good husband and father. Ted eventually finds his soulmate in Tracy, and of course she also wants children. They eventually have a boy and a girl together. Ted is led throughout a twisting, turning love story that sees him fall in and out of love with the wrong women, but it all comes to a head at the end of the series.
When they all go out to brunch, Ted finally finds out, months after it actually occurred, that his parents got divorced. Robin wanted to become a world renowned television journalist, and her interest in relationships exists second to that priority. Of course, like people in the real world, her aspirations change as she evolves throughout the program.

There were frequent cast blowouts around the pool table at a favourite local bar nearby, where punters would walk in and shriek at the sight of the cast hanging out in a group. The two first met when they were paired up at one of the many London auditions that followed the first one at school and got on like a house on fire. I remember reading about the Harry Potter kids and thinking the same.
First off, let’s get right to the question on everyone’s mind: Is How I Met Your Mother’s mother (played by Cristin Milioti) going to survive the series.
The series begins in September with Ted Josh Radnor as a single, year-old architect living with his two best friends from his college years; Marshall Eriksen Jason Segel , a law student, and Lily Aldrin Alyson Hannigan , a kindergarten teacher and an aspiring artist. Lily and Marshall have been dating for almost nine years when Marshall finally proposes. Their engagement causes Ted to think about marriage and finding his soul mate, much to the disgust of his self-appointed best friend Barney Stinson Neil Patrick Harris , whom he met in the restroom at a bar four years earlier.
Barney is a serial womanizer who concocts elaborate con games, usually involving costumes and fake identities, designed to bed women, only to lose interest in them immediately afterward. Ted begins his search for his perfect soul mate and meets an ambitious young reporter from Canada, Robin Scherbatsky Cobie Smulders , with whom he quickly falls in love. Robin, however, does not want to rush into a relationship and the two decide to be friends. Future Ted reveals that Robin is not the mother after referring to her as ” Aunt Robin”.
Ted begins dating a baker, Victoria Ashley Williams , whom he meets at Stuart and Claudia ‘s wedding, causing Robin to become jealous, and realize she does have feelings for Ted. Victoria is offered a fellowship in pastry-making, moves to Germany and she and Ted try a long-distance relationship. Once Ted learns Robin has feelings for him, he tells her he broke up with Victoria, even though he has not.
They almost have sex when Victoria calls and Robin answers, mistaking Ted’s phone for her own. Ted and Victoria then break up and an angry Robin distances herself from Ted, but they eventually reconcile and decide to date. Meanwhile, Lily begins to wonder if she has missed any opportunities because of her relationship with Marshall, and decides to pursue an art fellowship in San Francisco , breaking-up with Marshall in the process.
The season ends with Ted returning to the apartment, the morning after spending the night with Robin for the first time, to find Marshall sitting in the rain with Lily’s engagement ring, devastated by their sudden break-up.

Women still hated him, but the group knew a few of his brief girlfriends. He constantly bemoaned the concept of doing anything other than seducing and bedding women and it becomes very significant in later seasons that he has next to no experience with relationships of any sort, however brief they may have been.
